Before the pink trainers, there was a lullaby. Tonight, “Basique, les sessions” welcomes TeddyBear, two days before the release of his debut album. A chance to go back to the song where it all began.
Some songs feel like the Sunday-evening phone call home. You tell your parents “I'm fine”, you hang up, and the silence keeps the rest. “Tout va bien” (“Everything's fine”), TeddyBear's first single, is one of those. This summer, everyone was looking at his feet, at the famous pink trainers his grandmother gave him. It's time to listen to what he had said before.
Between the mine and the cradle
Released on 18 March 2026, “Tout va bien” grew out of two memories: Jules Scinta's conversations with his grandfather, a coal miner, and a lullaby his mother used to sing to him. He wrote the lyrics, composed the music with Nicolas Subrechicot, and the video, shot entirely in chiaroscuro, is by director Seraphin Maroy.
The song moves slowly, at a night-light tempo. It is about the struggle to feel legitimate, about a family where you learn to take the blows without complaining. The narrator reassures his loved ones: he has both hands, all ten fingers, he is still standing. Then he admits, with disarming honesty, that this “everything's fine” may be truer tomorrow than today. Less a statement than a promise. The chorus, repeated like a litany, takes on the role of the mother's lullaby: it is the child turned adult singing it to himself, to keep going.
A quiet gem, left in the shadow of the summer hit, and yet the key to everything else. That is why the editorial team chose it as a favourite: “Tout va bien” is already on air on InDi RaDio.

The bear who watches over
Jules Scinta is 24. He was born and raised in Mons, Belgium, in a family of musicians of Sicilian origin, and first picked up the sticks, playing drums alongside his father. Only in 2023 did he step up to the microphone to sing, and he hasn't let go of it since.
He didn't choose his nickname: as a student, his neighbours in halls already called him TeddyBear, because he looked out for the whole building. A protective bear, then. The name tells you about his build; the songs tell you what lies beneath.
Tonight on “Basique”
Since its first season, “Basique, les sessions” has set out to introduce today the artists we will be listening to tomorrow. The TeddyBear episode airs on Wednesday 28 October at 00:30 on France 4, then on replay on france.tv, home to the whole Basique collection. The session can also be watched live on Basique's YouTube channel. A live session, as close to the voice as possible: the ideal format for a song like “Tout va bien”.
“Le Plus Beau”, this Friday
In just a few months, the teddy bear has grown up fast: opening for Julien Doré, Clara Luciani and Orelsan, breakthrough artist at the Chantier des Francofolies, then Belgian breakthrough of the year at the NRJ Music Awards. His debut album, “Le Plus Beau”, is out this Friday, 30 October, on the independent label Ceinture Rose Records. It blends French chanson, pop, rap, jazz and electronic sounds, and talks about love, family, fear and what it means to be twenty today. A path shaped by the stage and by writing, one song at a time.
Tonight, turn off the lights, turn up the sound. And let yourself be lulled.
